USING AFTER MARKET FUEL PUMP

After market fuel pumps usually pump fuel in excess of 3 P.S.I. Since the carburetor on your car cannot handle a high fuel pressure you will need to purchase and install a fuel pressure regulator. Set the fuel regulator at 3 P.S.I. or lower. The higher fuel pressure can force float bowl valves open and give a false rich running and/or overflow flooding. Since the carburetors are usually above the exhaust manifold the excessive fuel can be hazardous to your car.
